  STACCATO Screening Download Brochure
STACCATO screening produces high-fidelity, artifact-free images that exhibit fine detail without halftone rosettes, screening moiré, gray-level limitations, or abrupt jumps in tone-with no impact on RIPing or rendering time. STACCATO screening improves color and halftone stability on press, making it a perfect complement to consistent "by-the-numbers" printing. SQUARESPOT thermal imaging enables the fine dot structure of STACCATO screening to be a reliable and practical solution for routine daily print production and an effective competitive edge for today's printers.
The pseudo-random nature of STACCATO halftone patterns also means that image degradation from misregistration is minimized. Unique patterns are used in each separation to prevent dot-on-dot printing. STACCATO screening is also available with six additional extended screen patterns for SPOTLESS X printing.

Controlled by Creo workflows STACCATO screening is an optional feature of PRINERGY, BRISQUE and iMPAct workflow software, and the screening is controlled from within the workflow.
Object level control Screening can be applied from desktop applications permitting screening control of EPS and PDF at the separation, image, page, or document level
Predefined calibration curves STACCATO software comes with standard calibration curves. Alternatively, custom curves can be built using Harmony or Xcurve tonal calibration software.
Suitable for a wide range of printing applications STACCATO screening can be used on fine paper, uncoated stock, recycled paper, newsprint, carton board, plastics, and metals.
For sheetfed and web offset printing STACCATO screening provides image quality and efficiency benefits for commercial, publications, direct mail, packaging and newspaper printing.
Spectrum and Iris proofing STACCATO screens can be proofed reliably on Kodak Spectrum Digital Halftone Proofing devices, and proofed for color on Iris inkjet proofers.
Independent screens for 4-color and 6-color separations
  • Four independent screens for CMYK work.
  • Six independent screens for low-resolution 6-color proofing.
  • STACCATO patterns are cached on disk to ensure that the same patterns are rendered every time the file is imaged.
  • Six-color separations available for specific output devices only.
