Get Right Colour on your label with Screen

The label and packaging printing industry is moving with incredible speed. Customers are asking for more flexibility, high quality results and competitive prices all at once.
Short-run production, constantly changing content, more variations and on-demand re-prints are nowadays the demands of the fast-moving consumer goods industry. Digital printing machines, as an extension to conventional printing technologies, often prove to be the best solution for label printers that want to keep up with the market.
One of the questions that we always come across in our discussions with label manufacturers evaluating digital label printing systems is “how to get the right colours with consistency on the Screen Inkjet UV technology” .
Packaging and label printing are characterized by a multitude of processes, substrates and colours, which are difficult to combine in an industry standard. However, right colour & consistency is also mandatory for production environments without standardized processes. To overcome this challenge of variety a powerful colour management solution is necessary – one that considers all characteristics of each process and gives users the power to always ensure right consistent colour results.
Printing a very large quantity of labels in flexo and a small/ medium amount of the same design with slightly seasonal changes in digital UV inkjet is a common scenario at most converters. Customers expect the same quality and get very critical when it comes to their brand colours. The solution for this problem is inks that support superior colour reproduction along with colour management and profiling tools.
Screens Inkjet UV Digital Label printing is characterised by a stable reliable hardware, integrated Equios software ( RIP, Colour management workflow & tools) plus the Screen inks which offer Seven inks—C, M, Y, K, white, orange, and blue — ensure superior colour reproduction.
The system also features stable colour reproduction, allowing for consistent printing time after time. These technologies provide a far wider range of colour expression than was previously possible.
SCREEN delivers the UV inkjet technology that is highly prized by label printing companies looking for top-level productivity, smooth output of gradations, reproduction of wide CMYK colour gamut and single-pass versioning printing.
Blue and Orange Ink
Blue ink is now supported along with C, M, Y, K, white and orange inks. Corporate colours that usually require the assignment of spot colours can be reproduced with complete accuracy. Blue tones, often used in toiletry, cosmetic and body care packaging are now more vibrant and appealing than ever before.
Orange ink enables richer colour reproduction in red areas for example in fruits and other food packaging

Wider colour gamut
Truepress inks are produced with a proprietary formula, enabling a wider CMYK colour gamut than with ordinary inks. Combining them with orange and blue inks (options) can further widen the colour gamut.
Truepress inks eliminate the inherent issues of conventional flexo UV inks and provide a wider colour gamut
Spot Colour Reproduction :
The accurate handling of spot colours is a challenging factor in colour management for packaging printing.
Corporate colours that usually require spot colours have to be reproduced with complete accuracy.
ICC profiles enable automatic spot colour printing as well as colour matching to meet client requirements. The colour libraries of DIC and Pantone are available as a standard feature, allowing smooth handling even if data includes a large number of spot colour specifications.

Spot Color Editor
This function allows spot colors to be selected from a list and automatically generates a colour variation chart of the selected colour. After checking the chart, you can select the colour closest to the target and reflect it in the data. This enables simplified matching of spot colours.
Precise colour management in label & packaging printing has become significantly easier and smarter, thanks to the right tools and software.
