Printing with White Ink - 3 Reasons to choose HP Latex

In earlier times, large format printers used to print with the CMYK colors – cyan, magenta, yellow and black. White colored inks were not available at that time due to the technology not being that advanced back then or simply because of bad reputation of white inks in general in the printing industry. White inks were introduced to Digital Printing about a decade ago. It came with lot of challenges for the customers such as prints with white ink yellowing over time, excessive cleaning and maintenance required to keep the printer and its printheads functional, and many more.

The biggest apprehension towards digital printing with white ink was that when not used for long time, the white ink could potentially block the printheads. For inkjet-based digital printing machines, the printheads are the driving force of the entire printer and they are very expensive to replace. This leads to an increase in additional running cost and expenses. Another issue with white ink is that it requires excessive cleaning and purging from the printheads which further adds up to the wastage. UV, Solvent and Eco-solvent based large format digital printers in general, require daily ink purging which results in ink wastage.

HP has overcome this challenge with their all-new HP Latex 700 and 800 Series as well as the R Series printers – digital hybrid flatbed printers from HP – by implementing an innovative system – the printers keep recirculating the white ink from the ink delivery system, always keeping it on the move and not allowing it to settle. The printers have user-replaceable thermal inkjet printheads and with the new White series, they have separate printheads for White ink which can be stored in an offline rotating chamber to prevent the ink from settling inside the printheads as well.

  1. Print White without any complexity

The ingenious design white ink hp 2 of the HP Latex printers  circulates the naturally denser white ink through the printer constantly. This constant movement through the printer’s circulatory system keeps the ink print-ready. Automatic recirculation and printhead cleaning reduce manual purging. To eliminate maintenance and waste, HP designed an offline rotation chamber where we can store the white print heads when not in use. This chamber rotates each hour to keep the ink moving. So, even in offline storage the ink is print-ready.

  1. Get the Glossiest white

HP Latex White Ink white ink hp 3 has been designed to achieve a remarkably opaque, visually strong, whitest white ink available on the market that does not yellow over time, enabling print businesses to produce neater outlines and add more contrast to darker supports.

The white ink is layered smoothly, evenly, and flat so it takes on the shape of the media. It reflects light directly and uniformly for a high gloss consistency which helps preserve the media texture on materials such as aluminum, MDF, clear films, wallpapers and many more.

HP white lays smooth on the surface of media, maintaining the original texture & feel of media. Whereas, UV ink lays unevenly hiding the original texture & feel of media.

White ink print modes are the quintessential ingredient to achieving more impactful graphics that can help boost margins. White ink works in concert with semi-transparent colored inks to preserve the opacity of the graphics, so images pop rather than fade or disappear into the colored media. These printers can print white in spot white, underflood, overflood, threelayer, as well as fivelayer print modes.
